BAKU: Various opportunities should be created for connecting the Russian electricity grid to Arab countries through Iran, Iran Electrical Industry Syndicate secretary Mehdi Masaeli said in a statement to local media, Trend reports. He stated that for years, discussions have been underway regarding the integration of Iran’s electricity grid with Russia via other countries, as well as the transit of electricity through Iran. In today’s world, nothing is impossible. To note, Iran’s Energy Minister Abbas Aliabadi proposed the connection of the Russian electricity grid to the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia through Iran at a Moscow meeting last week attended by ministers from BRICS member countries. He indicated that this initiative could significantly reduce production-related investments while enhancing environmental protection and regional security. Source: Trend News Agency
