IRU Secretary General Highlights Middle Corridor’s Importance for Global Trade

Baku: Working towards the creation of the Middle Corridor is a very important issue for us. We have talked about the Middle Corridor in all the events I have attended over the past 2 years, Umberto de Pretto, Secretary General of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) said at the 10th Meeting of the Heads of Customs Administrations of the Turkic States Organization, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, de Pretto emphasized that analyses were conducted to conclude that the Middle Corridor is the shortest and most cost-effective route from China to Europe. He further explained that the Middle Corridor also serves as the quickest route from China to Europe and onward to the east coast of America, underscoring its significant role in global trade.

The establishment of the Middle Corridor has been a topic of discussion in various international forums attended by de Pretto over the past two years. He reiterated the strategic importance of this corridor for facilitating trade and economic connectivity across continents.
