The meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission for Ensuring the Implementation of Turkmenistan's International Obligations in the Field of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Mejlis (parliament), a number of ministries, departments and public organizations of the country.

At the meeting, the results of the activities of the commission for 2022 and tasks for the future were discussed. Particular attention was paid to priority areas of work to improve the activities of state bodies and public associations in the field of ensuring human rights and implementing the norms of international humanitarian law.

At the meeting, it was noted that the legislation of Turkmenistan is consistently developing on the basis of national experience and traditions, as well as taking into account international practice. As part of the exchange of views, the relevance of increasing the level of legal knowledge of the population and expanding people's access to legal information was also emphasized.
