Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to build an elevator and a shop for the production of bags in Mary

At a working meeting on July 4, Deputy Prime Minister Annageldi Yazmyradov , who oversees the agricultural sector, reported on the work to send wheat and flour from Kazakhstan to Afghanistan and through it to other countries, TDH reports .

In particular, with the participation of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, it is planned to build an elevator for storing 100,000 tons of wheat and a shop for making bags on the lands of the Çemenabat livestock farm in the Serhetabat etrap of the Mary velayat. The work will be carried out with equity participation.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that this "will contribute to the development of relations between the countries of the region, including the restoration of the economy of Afghanistan," and ordered to study this proposal in detail.

On February 15, 2022, the then President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov announced that during the visit of the government delegation of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan, the Kazakh side proposed to build a processing industrial complex on the Turkmen-Afghan border .

He instructed officials to study the proposal and determine the site for the construction of the facility. “For the construction of an industrial complex on the territory of the Serhetabat etrap of the Mary velayat, there is the necessary infrastructure, including roads and railways,” added Berdimuhamedov, senior.

On October 24-25, 2021, the state visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan took place, following which he announced that Kazakhstan was ready to increase the supply of flour and wheat to Turkmenistan.

On February 12, 2022, First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar visited Ashgabat, where he discussed with Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Serdar Berdimuhamedov, then Deputy Prime Minister, the implementation of the agreements reached during the state visit of the head of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan.
