Kazakhstan will build an industrial complex on the Turkmen-Afghan border. What it will produce is unknown.

On February 15, Acting President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting at which he said that during the visit of the government delegation of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan, the Kazakh side proposed to build a processing industrial complex on the Turkmen-Afghan border. What it will process, the state information agency TDH does not specify.

During the report on this facility, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov , Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev in charge of the agro-industrial complex , Deputy Prime Minister for Trade Chary Gylydzhov (he is also the co-chairman from the Turkmen side of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Kazakh Commission on economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation) ).

Officials were instructed to carefully study the proposal, determine the site for the construction of the facility and ensure the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the negotiations on the construction of the processing facility by the Kazakh side. It was noted that the object will be important in the further intensification of bilateral relations and the creation of new jobs.

“For the construction of an industrial complex on the territory of the Serhetabat etrap of the Mary velayat, there is the necessary infrastructure, including roads and railways,” the president added.

On February 12, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar , who arrived in Ashgabat at the head of a government delegation. The Kazakh vice-premier also met with three Turkmen vice-premiers, including Serdar Berdimuhamedov , as well as with the heads of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the khyakim of the Mary velayat.

On February 14, a telephone conversation took place between the Acting President of Turkmenistan and the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev .
