Kazan hopes to restore flights with Turkmenistan in summer

Kazan International Airport plans to resume flights with Turkmenistan in 2022, Interfax reported on January 25, citing airport director general Sergei Romantsov .

“From the beginning of the summer navigation season, foreign partner companies are expected to return to their previous routes, such as Smartwings, airBaltic, AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines), Turkmenistan Airlines with the frequency of flights at the pre-pandemic level ,” the official said.

International flights to Kazan were canceled by Turkmen Airlines in March 2020.

On January 19, the Turkish ambassador to Ashgabat said that he expects air traffic between the countries to resume in the "near future".
