Korea to build educational Information Accessibility Center in Turkmenistan

At a cabinet meeting on October 28, Deputy Prime Minister for Science and Education, Healthcare and Sports Sapardurdy Toylyev told President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov about joint plans with Korean partners to create an Information Accessibility Center .

According to the state information agency TDH , the Ministry of Science and Information and Communication Technologies of South Korea made a proposal to create a Center equipped with modern communication technology, computers and high-speed Internet.

The purpose of the Center is to develop the digital educational system of Turkmenistan and, in particular, to increase the literacy of citizens in the areas of web design and programming by providing access to electronic educational resources, TDH notes.

Berdymukhamedov approved the proposal and noted that "taking into account the need to train competent personnel, it is important to modernize the education and training system and bring educational programs in line with generally recognized international standards."

Meanwhile, almost all popular in the rest of the world social networks and instant messengers, information and educational resources, including the largest service for the joint development of IT projects GitHub, have been blocked in Turkmenistan. .

According to Radio Azatlyk and Turkmen news , the authorities of Turkmenistan have stepped up the fight against VPN-applications, which are used by subscribers to bypass Internet censorship and access resources prohibited in the country.
