Krestinin resigns as head coach of Kyrgyzstan’s national football team

Alexander Krestinin resigned as a head coach of the national football team of Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Football Union (KFU) reported.

According to the KFU, it was a mutual decision.

Russian media reported about expected resignation of Alexander Krestinin a few days ago. According to them, ex-player of Manchester United and the Russian national team Andrei Kanchelskis can replace him.

Alexander Krestinin is 44 years old. He became the head coach of the national team of Kyrgyzstan in 2014. Under his mentorship, for the first time in its history, the team secured a berth at the 2019 Asian Cup and reached the 1/8 finals of the tournament.

He was awarded the title of the «Best Coach of the Kyrgyz Republic» and Danaker Order.
