Kumtor company left its chic office located in Bishkek on Kievskaya Street and returned to rented premises in Uchkun OJSC building. Employees of the disbanded Heritage of Great Nomads National Holding told 24.kg news agency.
Recall, MP Jenishbek Toktorbaev said in June last year that Heritage of Great Nomads National Holding was renting a building in the center of the capital for a lot of money. According to him, the rent is at least $50,000 per month.
Then presidential spokesman Erbol Sultanbaev said that the head of the Holding and the temporary external manager of Kumtor Gold Company, Tengiz Bolturuk, did not coordinate the decision to move from the office previously located in Uchkun OJSC building either with the Cabinet of Ministers or with Sadyr Japarov.
Tengiz Bolturuk himself complained that there was not enough space in Uchkun. According to him, «billionaires sat on a chair between the toilets.» He also stated that the head of state would allocate land and he would build a new building for Kumtor.
Tengiz Bolturuk and Ryspek Toktogulov were dismissed from all the positions they held. It was reported that the Prosecutor General’s Office began a detailed check. It resulted in three criminal cases with preliminary damage to the state of 1 billion soms. As a result, the former external manager of Kumtor was detained and placed in the remand center of the State Committee for National Security until March 10, 2023. Tengiz Bolturuk himself does not admit his guilt. He stated that all the accusations were false. His lawyer says that the accused is ready to cooperate with the investigation.
