The delegation of Kyrgyzstan, headed by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for National Security, Director of the ATC of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Aibek Shamenov, took part in the events as part of the UN Week on Counterterrorism in New York. June 19-20 this year Aibek Shamenov took part in the High-Level Conference on Countering Terrorism and in his speech informed about the efforts of the Kyrgyz side in countering terrorism and extremism. June 21 this year the delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic on the sidelines of the UN held an event (side event), during which it presented the Program of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic on countering terrorism and extremism for 2022-2027. The event was co-organized with Kenya, UN Counter-Terrorism Office. In addition, representatives of civil society of the Kyrgyz Republic and international partners represented by the OSCE, UNRCCA and UNDP took part in the event and spoke. June 22 this year Aibek Shamenov spoke at the plenary session of the UN General Assembly on the Eighth Review of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy. During his speech, he noted that Kyrgyzstan fully supports the effective implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy, which is a unique global document aimed at strengthening national, regional and international efforts in the fight against terrorism. Aibek Shamenov also held meetings with the UN Deputy Secretary General, Head of the UNOCT Vladimir Voronkov, Executive Director of the CPC ID Natalya German, as well as heads of counter-terrorism agencies of China, Iraq and the United States. The parties discussed further steps to develop bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
