Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev took part in a regular meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
During the meeting, its participants discussed preparations for the upcoming SCO summit in New Delhi (India) and the admission of Iran and Belarus to the organization. They also exchanged views on topical regional and international issues.
Jeenbek Kulubaev outlined the importance of continuing work within the framework of the implementation of the decision of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO on improving the mechanisms to counter challenges and threats to security, including on the initiative of Kyrgyzstan to establish a Center for Combating International Organized Crime in Bishkek.
«The Kyrgyz side stands for the intensification of comprehensive investment cooperation, including in the field of energy industry, green economy, information technology, digitalization, e-commerce and the creative economy. In the context of the international agenda, Kyrgyzstan stands for the promotion of the interests of mountainous countries on the international arena,» Jeenbek Kulubaev said.
