Kyrgyzstan aims to increase trade turnover with Turkmenistan – president

Kyrgyzstan is ready to discuss concrete steps to increase trade turnover and implement joint infrastructure projects with Turkmenistan, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov said, Trend reports. He made the statement at a meeting with the Chairman of the People's Council of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat. The negotiations focused on strengthening trade, economic, and cultural cooperation, as well as the implementation of joint projects in the areas of trade, energy, transport, and logistics. The President of Kyrgyzstan proposed to pay special attention to cooperation in the energy sector and the creation of new transport corridors between the countries to improve regional integration and increase trade turnover. The President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov is in Ashgabat on a working visit, during which he participated in the international forum 'Interconnection of Times and Civilizations - the Basis of Peace and Development.' The forum was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where leaders of the CIS countries, Mongolia, Iran, and Pakistan, gathered. In addition, the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Trkiye, the Head of Tatarstan, heads of international organizations, members of governments, renowned scientists, cultural figures, and diplomats were also among the distinguished guests.
