BISHKEK: An agricultural census in Kyrgyzstan is scheduled for 2025, Trend reports. According to the Cabinet of the Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, the first meeting of the Republican Commission for the preparation and conduct of the agricultural census took place, where an action plan was approved to prepare for the census. This includes an information campaign, training for enumerators, and ensuring necessary technical infrastructure. The meeting was chaired by Bakyt Torobayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry of the country. Participants included leaders from various ministries and agencies, representatives of the president in regional areas, as well as the mayors of Bishkek and Osh. The National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan presented information on the preparations for the 2025 agricultural census, including a pilot census scheduled for November 2024 in two rural areas of the Aravan district in Osh region and in the Ysyk-At a district in Chuy region. The Republican Commission discussed key aspects of the preparation, such as developing an information campaign to raise public awareness, creating training materials for enumerators, and ensuring the required technical infrastructure. "The agricultural census is a key event for obtaining accurate and up-to-date information on the state of agriculture in Kyrgyzstan.
