BISHKEK: Kyrgyzstan exported 125,640 tons of cement to Uzbekistan from January through April 2024, Trend reports. Data from Kyrgyzstan’s State Statistical Committee indicates that this figure decreased by 16.4 percent compared to 150,334 tons in the same months of 2023. The value of the exports amounted to $3.746 million, a decline of 32.7 percent compared to $5.569 million in the corresponding months of 2023. In the first month of the current year, Uzbekistan was the sole country importing cement from Kyrgyzstan. Meanwhile, Kyrgyzstan produced 1.014 million tons of cement from January through May 2024, which is a 5.7 percent decrease compared to the same period in 2023, when 1.075 million tons were produced. Overall, Kyrgyzstan’s foreign trade turnover reached $5.171 billion from January through April 2024, which is a 27.7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2023 ($4.051 billion). Exports amounted to $760.6 million, which is an increase of 19.7 percent compared to the $635.678 million record ed in January-April 2023.
