Lawmakers Propose Plenary Session to Discuss Orderly Exit of Park

A group of ruling and opposition party lawmakers have proposed a parliamentary plenary session or a meeting of the Whole Committee of the National Assembly to discuss procedures and steps for the orderly exit of President Park Geun-hye.

Fourteen lawmakers made the proposal Wednesday during a news conference at the National Assembly. They also called for discussions on ways to normalize state affairs.

Representative Park Young-sun of the main opposition Democratic Party said the plenary session of the Whole Committee meeting can be held with approval from one-fourth of lwmakers, which is 75 lawmakers.

She said the bipartisan group will secure approval from lawmakers of their respective parties to hold the session.
