Leaders of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan discuss cooperation strategy

Talks between President Ilham Aliyev and President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who arrived in Baku on a two-day official visit, began in Baku at the Zagulba residence of the head of Azerbaijan.

Turkmen-Azerbaijani high-level talks began with a meeting of two leaders in a one-on-one format. The agenda of the talks includes discussion of issues of cooperation within the framework of international organizations, increasing bilateral trade, implementing joint energy and transport-transit projects, and exchanging views on the issues of the Caspian and the development of partnership in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

The heads of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan will also pay attention to regional and international issues of mutual interest.

As a result of the talks, it is planned to sign a large package of bilateral documents designed to expand the scope of Turkmen-Azerbaijani cooperation.
