A meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan with the delegation of the Republic of Singapore headed by the President of the Management Development Institute of Singapore Dr.Eric Kuan Choon Hock.
In the beginning of the meeting, the parties noted with satisfaction that the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Singapore in August of current year became an important step in the process of strengthening and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
It was noted during the meeting that Turkmenistan attaches great importance to cultural-humanitarian collaboration with Singapore while the current visit of the scientific circles will give vital impulse to the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of education and science.
As is known, the Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkmen State Institute of Economy and Management and the Management Development Institute of Singapore was signed in the framework of the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Singapore. As the representatives of the academic circles noted, this institute of higher education is the oldest non-commercial institute of professional training in Singapore.
The issues of organizing the special educational programmes, round tables and space bridges, including the exchange programmes for students and faculty members were discussed during the meeting.
In the course of the talks, the Singapore side also proposed to open a branch of the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Turkmenistan which will contribute to expansion and deepening of collaboration between the countries which will add to the upgrading of the science and education systems.
