Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Russia Batyr Niyazliev met with Deputy Mayor, Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscow Maxim Liksutov , the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan reported on February 16.
The parties discussed cooperation in the field of land transport infrastructure, the creation of modern urban agglomerations and "smart cities".
"According to Maxim Liksutov, there are good opportunities for establishing cooperation in such segments as transport security, optimization of parking spaces, the introduction of electronic transport management systems in large cities," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
In this regard, the possibility of organizing a visit of a delegation of the Moscow government to Turkmenistan for substantive negotiations is being considered .
The Foreign Ministry notes that the Russian side during the visit proposes to consider such aspects as the use of digital technologies, the formation of transport infrastructure during the construction of Ashgabat City , the creation of a "green corridor" for the supply of Turkmen agricultural products to Moscow, and the organization of a joint business forum.

During a meeting with President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on May 17, 2021, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov discussed issues of cooperation in the field of information technology. “We will lay the foundation of a smart city (smart city) next week.
