Mosques will open in Turkmenistan from March 29, Turkmenportal reports citing the Muftiate of the country.
In honor of the upcoming fast of Ramadan, which will begin on April 2, all mosques in the country will work as usual. However, their visit is possible with strict observance of sanitary and hygienic standards , the newspaper notes.
The restriction on visiting mosques in Turkmenistan was introduced on July 13, 2020.
A year ago, on April 1, Turkmenportal, also citing the Muftiate of the country , reported that mosques had resumed their work.
However, according to correspondents of “Chronicles of Turkmenistan”, they were closed a few months later, when the next wave of COVID-19 arrived.
According to Radio Azatlyk , imams in three etraps of the Lebap velayat received the decision of the mufti of Turkmenistan to open mosques from March 25.
“Permission to resume collective prayers is associated with the approach of the month of Ramadan and the easing of quarantine restrictions imposed in connection with the coronavirus pandemic,” Radio writes.
In addition, according to Radio, a partial opening of bazaars is expected from April 1, the resumption of air and railway communications as usual, as well as the abolition of the mask regime.
HT correspondents also report that trade will resume on April 1, catering points and beauty salons will open.
