About 1.5-2 times more foreigners than the population of the country arrive in Kyrgyzstan annually. Marat Maralbaev, Deputy Director of the Border Service of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan said, answering the questions of MP Adakhan Madumarov at a meeting of the Committee on International Affairs, Defense, Security and Migration.
The deputy noted that over the past two years, the number of foreigners arriving in the Kyrgyz Republic has increased.
«Their number exceeds the population of the country twice. For what purpose do they come to us? How many stay and how many leave? Of course, you will say that this is connected with the situation in Russia and Ukraine. According to the government agencies of Uzbekistan, 225,000 of their citizens have chosen Kyrgyzstan as their permanent place of residence. Unlike our bodies, they analyze it. What bilateral agreements on the period of visa-free stay are being violated?» he asked.
Marat Maralbaev replied that the Border Service also does an analysis of arriving foreigners. «Yes, 1.5-2 times more foreigners than the population of the country arrive in Kyrgyzstan every year. Their purpose is tourism, education, and work. We are also conducting an analysis. We will provide you with answers in detail in writing,» he added.
