Nakhchivan to host two auctions for sale of subsoil use rights

The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic will hold two auctions in September for the sale of subsoil exploitation rights. In total, three quarries of construction materials are put up for auction. The first auction will be held on September 14, for which the Alinjachai sand and gravel quarry (Julfa region), whose reserves are estimated at 345,000 m3, is put up. The area of the quarry is 6.9 hectares. The starting cost of selling the right to operate it for 20 years is set at 34.500 manats. The next auction is scheduled for September 19. Investors will be offered the right to use for 25 years the deposits of marl (raw materials for cement production) "Lizbirt" (Sharur region) and the deposits of teshenite (decorative ornamental stone) "Karadash" (Julfa region). Recoverable reserves of these deposits are estimated at 2 million and 1.23 million m3, respectively. The Ministry of Ecology of Nakhchivan has established the starting cost of these deposits in the amount of 200,000 and 123,000 manats. Auctions for granting the right to use Nakhchivan mineral resources in a competitive environment started in July this year. The Ministry of Ecology of Nakhchivan did not disclose information about the outcome of the auction for the sale of the right to operate the Goshaguldag sand pit for 15 years (located on the territory of Babek and Julfa regions). The starting cost was 15,180 manats.
