Negotiations of heads of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan take place in Ashgabat

President of Afghanistan, Ashraf Ghani, arrived in Ashgabat.

According to the state news agency TDH , negotiations at the highest level in the "one to one" format and in an expanded format, with the participation of members of delegations began the next day.

The parties discussed interstate projects, in particular the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline and the formation of transport corridors.

Following the talks, a number of documents were signed :

Agreement on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters;

Air service agreement;

Memorandum of Understanding on the development of cooperation in the oil and gas sector;

Memorandum of Understanding on increasing the volume of Turkmen electricity supplied to the province of Herat of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan;

Agreement on the location of the international railway crossing on the Turkmen-Afghan state border;

Memorandum of Understanding on the construction of the Akina-Andkha railway between the Agency Turkmendemiryollary of the Ministry of Industry and Communication of Turkmenistan and the establishment of the railway transport of Afghanistan

The rules of the organization on the Turkmen-Afghan state border of the railway communication between the stations Serhetabat-Turgundi;

Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation between the Makhtumkuli Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan and the National Archives of Afghanistan.
