President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received credentials from the new Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom to Turkmenistan, Hugh Stanley Philpott.
During the exchange of views on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the Turkmen leader and the British ambassador noted the significant potential for building mutually beneficial ties in various fields. Among the promising areas of cooperation, the parties named the trade and economic sphere, the energy and communication sector, communications, agriculture and construction.
The parties also discussed the revitalization of the Turkmen-British Trade and Industrial Council, whose next meeting was held in Ashgabat in April this year.
During the meeting, the British diplomat emphasized that he would fully contribute to the further expansion of the Turkmen-British dialogue.
