New Israeli ambassador to visit Turkmenistan a year and a half after appointment

The new Israeli Ambassador to Turkmenistan , Bat Eden Kait , appointed to this post in July 2020, will visit Ashgabat for the first time and present his credentials to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov . It is reported by the Israel Hayom news site .

According to the newspaper, Kite will travel to Turkmenistan for some time as part of a humanitarian mission to deliver medicines. After that, the ambassador will return to Israel.

This trip will cost $ 160 thousand and its expediency was debated in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As a result, it was decided to organize a visit due to the importance of developing relations with Turkmenistan, due to its geographical location (the country borders on Iran), as well as due to the potential for economic cooperation.

“Without the resumption of permanent presence, relations with Turkmenistan cannot develop. Therefore, it was decided to send a humanitarian mission there, at the request of the Turkmen government, ”the Israeli Foreign Ministry said.
