Nomination of candidates for deputies completed in the elections to the Parliament of Turkmenistan

In the elections to the Mejlis (parliament) of Turkmenistan, which will be held on March 26, the nomination of candidates for deputies has ended.

After the registration of candidates, which will end on February 28, their lists will be published in the press. Then all applicants and their proxies will be given equal opportunities for campaigning and meetings with voters, including at pre-election meetings, meetings, and speeches in the media.

Information about the time and place of meetings with voters, during which they will be able to get acquainted with the election programs of candidates in the most complete way, will be published in the local press. Monitoring of the course of the elections will be carried out by both national observers and specially invited representatives of various international structures. To date, about three thousand observers have been registered from the Democratic Party of Turkmenistan, the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, the Agrarian Party of Turkmenistan and public organizations of the country.

The participation of their representatives as observers in the elections was announced in the Executive Committee of the CIS and the Organization of Turkic States. Representatives of the UN, the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, and foreign media are also expected to arrive.
