Number of Azerbaijani tourists grows by 5.7%

In the first half of this year, 791,600 Azerbaijani citizens left the country. This is up by 16.2% from the comparable period of 2022, the State Statistics Committee told Turan. However, the dynamics of the tourist flow is more moderate. Note that 462.700 citizens of the country crossed the state borders of Azerbaijan for tourist reasons in January-June of this year, which is only 5.7% more than in the appropriate period of the last year. The rest of the travelers (about 329,000 people) from Azerbaijan visited foreign countries for other purposes. Azerbaijani tourists used planes (449,851 people) and ships (12,890 people. In the first half of this year, they visited mainly Turkey (182.600 people), Russia (119.400 people), Georgia (36.600 people), the UAE (32.900 people) and Kazakhstan (17.100 people). In total, the period of stay of Azerbaijani tourists outside the country amounted to 2.4 million days. Of these, 1 million 371.000 days they spent in hotels. According to the SSC, tourists spent 586.1 million manats abroad, which is up by 32.3% from the first half of 2022.
