OECD Anti-Corruption Network Experts Visit Azerbaijan

Baku: In line with the recommendations and instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan continues to maintain effective cooperation with several prestigious international organizations, including the Anti-Corruption Network for Eastern Europe and Central Asia of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), APA reports, citing Prosecutor General's Office.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, within the framework of this cooperation, the Republic of Azerbaijan successfully passed the OECD's monitoring phases: Phase I (2006-2010), Phase II (2010-2013), Phase III (2013-2016), and Phase IV (2016-2019), obtaining compliance reports. During these evaluation processes, significant changes were made to integrate national legislation with international standards, increase transparency in the activities of state bodies, and improve the quality of services provided to citizens.

As a continuation of successful partnership, within the framework of implementing the Istanbul Anti-Corruption Action Plan for Eastern Europe and Central Asia and based on the fifth round evaluation process covering 2022-2026, a delegation of experts from the Anti-Corruption Network visited Baku from March 17 to 19 to carry out the necessary monitoring procedures regarding anti-corruption measures implemented in the country.

Based on the information gathered during the visit, a final country report is expected to be prepared and adopted during discussions scheduled for July of this year.
