Türkiye’s Foreign Ministry condemned the European Parliament’s resolution against Azerbaijan, APA reports.
“The non-binding resolution “The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh after Azerbaijan’s attack and Azerbaijan’s ongoing threats against Armenia” adopted by the European Parliament (EP) today (October 5) is an example of irresponsibility, prejudice and ignorance.
Populism, racism, Islamophobia, anti-multiculturalism and anti-integration are becoming stronger European politics, with its current composition, exposes itself with all its extremes in the EP. Our hope for the future of the EU is that the current EP, whose term of office will expire soon, will have a new composition of constructive, comprehensive and responsive representatives who are committed to the fundamental values of the EU,” says Turkish MFA.
It was also added that Türkiye makes intensive efforts to establish permanent peace, stability and prosperity in the South Caucasus, to implement the normalization process with Armenia, to make a concrete contribution to the peace process between this country and Azerbaijan, and to ensure peace within the framework of international legal norms.
“Our country is mobilizing all its capabilities for the establishment of brotherhood and common interests in all areas of conflict and humanitarian crisis, including the Ukrainian war, and our respected President is a fundamental actor whose weight and efforts are used in this direction. “We see such irresponsible texts, which no one takes into account, but which will attract the attention of marginal segments, as a decision of the EP, as a system weakness and we do not take them seriously,” the statement emphasized.
