On June 13, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov had a telephone conversation with his counterpart from Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud .
The parties agreed to organize a visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan by the end of June to hold bilateral political consultations and organize a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Riyadh in the second half of the year, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports .
“These events will be held in the context of preparations for the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” the news release says.
Recall that on June 1-2, Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited Saudi Arabia for the first time as president, where he performed the rite of death (small pilgrimage).
