Oil Production at Kashagan Field Could Exceed One Million Barrels Daily

Astana: The daily oil production at the "Kashagan" field in Kazakhstan's sector of the Caspian Sea could potentially more than double to reach 1 million barrels, according to Kuanysh Keskinbayev, Deputy General Director for Commercial Affairs of KMQ Kashagan. Keskinbayev shared this information during his speech at the "Caspian and Central Asia Oil Trading and Logistics Forum," organized by GLENMAR Group, APA-Economics reports.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Keskinbayev stated that the current production at the Kashagan field stands at 400-420 thousand barrels daily. He highlighted the possibility of increasing this volume significantly, aiming to hit the 1 million barrels per day mark.

Keskinbayev also provided insights into Kazakhstan's overall oil production capabilities, noting that the nation produces approximately 90 million tons of oil annually. Out of this total, around 70 million tons are exported, underscoring the country's significant role in the global oil market.
