Omsk Oblast of Russia increases trade with Kyrgyzstan four times

Omsk Oblast of Russia increased its trade with Kyrgyzstan four times. It was announced at a business forum in Osh, attended by a delegation of industrialists and entrepreneurs from the Russian region.

«Kyrgyzstan is an important business partner for Omsk Oblast. At year-end 2022 we rapidly increased the points of cooperation, the republic is in the top 10 of our main trading partners today. On behalf of the head of the region Vitaly Khotsenko, our business mission should not only strengthen existing relations, but also develop new ties in the interests of the economy of Omsk Oblast and the Kyrgyz Republic,» Deputy Chairman of the regional government Dmitry Ushakov told.

He met with the Presidential Envoy of the Kyrgyz Republic Elchibek Dzhantaev. The parties discussed opportunities for increasing exports and imports. In particular, Omsk enterprises can increase the supply of cheese and meat products, and Kyrgyz firms — fruits and berries.

Dmitry Ushakov invited Kyrgyz farmers to take part in the Agro-Omsk exhibition. Omsk Oblast is also interested in textiles and fabrics.

In addition to economic cooperation, issues of interuniversity cooperation will be discussed in Osh. A cooperation agreement was signed between the Osh State University and the Omsk State Medical University.
