On behalf of the President, a delegation from Turkmenistan went to Vietnam to negotiate cooperation in the construction industry

By order of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov , from June 27 to July 1, a delegation of Turkmenistan was sent to the city of Hanoi (Vietnam).

For the first time, a business trip to Vietnam became known when ex-president Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov once again came with an inspection to the construction site of the new capital Akhal. On June 4, it was reported that it was planned to supply marble for facing city objects from Vietnam, where specialized specialists, including builders, would also go to improve their skills and exchange experience with partners from developed countries .

Later, during the inspection on June 25, the head of the Halk Maslakhaty said that the delegation, which was going to Vietnam to exchange experience in the field of urban planning, would be headed by the head of the State Committee for the Construction of the Center of Akhal Velayat Deryageldi Orazov .

However, according to the country's Foreign Ministry, the delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Khadzhiev . It is his name that is mentioned by the Foreign Ministry and not once by Orazova.

So, on June 27, Khadzhiev held talks with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Nguyen Minh Vu .

They discussed the possibility of exchanging trade and economic delegations to study the prospects for the development of relations, and also decided to initiate the activities of the Turkmen-Vietnamese Business Council.

Following the meeting, the Vietnamese media wrote that Nguyen Minh Vu said a colleague that this visit would create new opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.

According to them them , Khadzhiev confirmed that Turkmenistan intends to intensify cooperation with Vietnam for the benefit and development of both countries.

The parties agreed to increase the exchange of delegations in the near future, continue consultations between the two ministries and sign agreements providing a legal basis for bilateral partnership.

They also pledged to actively expand ties between the business communities of the two countries and promote the exchange of experience in the field of education and technology, as well as cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, building materials and finance.

On June 28, Vepa Khadzhiev met with the leadership of the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Industry and Trade. The parties noted the presence of great potential for expanding trade between the two countries, as well as attracting investments from the state and private business, reports the Turkmen Foreign Ministry

It is noted that the parties can cooperate in the fields of industry, agriculture, textiles and construction.

It was proposed to intensify the work of the profile departments of the two countries in order to reach specific agreements . The proposal to establish a bilateral working group on cooperation in the construction sector was also discussed .

On June 29, a Turkmen-Vietnamese business forum was held in Hanoi, within the framework of which an exhibition of Turkmen products was held and meetings with Vietnamese companies were held. As a result of the forum in Hanoi, a number of agreements were signed, the Foreign Ministry notes, but does not write which ones.
