Development of cooperation in agrarian section was the main subject of the online meeting held in the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Protection with Deputy Chairman of the CIS Intergovernmental Seed Coordination Council, Doctor of Science, Professor Ivan Kuz’min.
The webinar was organized in the context of the partnership with agrarian scientists of the leading scientific institutes for exchange of practice in this sphere. Turkmenistan pays special attention to this aspect of cooperation under the CIS. Large-scale reforms, which are aimed to support strengthening of food abundance and export potential, are carried out in agricultural section of national economy.
It was mentioned that special attention is paid on the government level to improvement of selection activity, introduction of modern technologies, latest achievements of agrarian science for improvement of productivity of agricultural crops as well as activation of international cooperation including in strengthening of contacts with profile foreign institutes.
Partnership with the CIS Intergovernmental Seed Coordination Council opens wide opportunities for introduction of innovations to this field. In this context, cooperation with profile scientific and research institutes of Russian Federation was the subject of discussion.
Cultivation of high productive wheat, potato and other agricultural crop species has been specified among priority subjects.
