Li Hui, Special Representative of the PRC Government for Eurasian Affairs, who is visiting our country, discussed with the leadership of Turkmenistan the possibilities for further expansion of bilateral ties in the field of energy, transport, logistics and other areas, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
The day before, he met with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during which the head of state stressed that strengthening relations with China is one of the priority areas of Turkmenistan's foreign policy doctrine. The interlocutors noted the high productivity of interaction in the political sphere, which is successfully carried out both in a bilateral and multilateral format, including within the framework of the Central Asia + China dialogue.
The head of state and his guest highly appreciated the prospects for the development of interstate dialogue in all areas, expressing confidence that the Turkmen-Chinese relations have a great future.
Speaking about the prospects for expanding trade and economic ties, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that China is currently a major trade and economic partner of Turkmenistan. A great deal of work in the implementation of the plans was entrusted to the Turkmen-Chinese Committee for Cooperation.
Among the priority areas were the fuel and energy complex, transport and communications, the chemical and textile industries, the area of high technologies and investments.
During his visit to Turkmenistan, Li Hui held talks with Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and his deputy Vepa Khadzhiev. During the meetings, an agreement was reached on the need to further expand bilateral ties in the field of energy, transport, logistics, culture and education, where there is a solid potential for mutual implementation.
