Democratic Party Chairwoman Choo Mi-ae says if President Park Geun-hye does not step down, the people will take her to court.
Speaking at a forum at the National Assembly on Wednesday, the opposition chief said the public has practically impeached her and that Park should voluntarily resign.
She explained that because the president betrayed the people, they have no choice but to abandon her. Choo pointed out the president is refusing to resign, citing a possible vacuum in state affairs and foreign policy.
She said, however, if the president attempts to delay a probe by the prosecution any longer, using her newly appointed lawyer, the people will hold candles again nationwide on Saturday.
