Opposition parties have rejected President Park Geun-hye's latest Cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday.
Floor leaders of three opposition parties agreed to dismiss the surprise shakeup in a meeting at the National Assembly, vowing to reject confirmation hearings for the nominees.
Floor Leader Woo Sang-ho of the main opposition Democratic Party criticized the president for carrying out a partial Cabinet reshuffle without consulting with the ruling and opposition parties. He said if she attempts to overcome the crisis with self-righteousness and high-handedness, she will face an even bigger crisis.
People's Party Floor Leader Lee yong-ho made it clear that his party will not cooperate in forming a special committee on confirmation hearings for the nominees.
Justice Party Floor Leader Roh Hoe-chan also said it is impossible to appoint a prime minister without consent from the opposition.
