President Park Geun-hye has met with senior religious leaders to hear their opinions and get advice on the Choi Soon-sil scandal.
The presidential office said Park invited the Catholic Church's Archbishop of Seoul, Cardinal Andrew Yeom Soo-jung, for talks Monday morning, and the Reverends Kim Jang-hwan and Kim Sam-hwan of the Protestant church in the afternoon, to listen to their thoughts on the current state of affairs.
The religious leaders reportedly expressed concerns over the situation and hopes that things will stabilize as soon as possible. The president is said to have denied rumors that she had taken up a shamanistic cult.
The president will invite the Most Venerable Jaseung, Chief Administrator of the Buddhist Jogye Order, for discussions on Wednesday.
