The official opening of the X International gas Congress of Turkmenistan took place today at 10 am at the hotel "Berkarar" of the National tourist zone "Avaza". Representatives of government delegations from a number of foreign countries, large energy companies, international financial institutions, diplomatic circles, the expert community, foreign and domestic media gathered here.
Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Myratgeldi Meredov read out to the audience the official greeting of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the participants of the Gas Congress that are standing with a storm of applause greeted the words of the head of state.
As the President Stressed in his address, "the Congress is of great importance in the context of increasing the pace of industrialization of Turkmenistan, diversification of the national economy, attracting investments for the joint development of oil and gas fields, the implementation of priority programs for the production of products in high demand on the world market."
The head of state expressed confidence that the Congress will promote international cooperation in the gas industry and will become an open platform for the exchange of experience.
Then the plenary session on "Gas � fuel of the future" began. Here is the main report delivered by the State Minister Chairman of the state concern "Turkmengas" Myrat Archaev, which presented an overview of the activities of gas company and new projects for gas processing. There was also a video film about the achievements and prospects of the gas industry in our country.
The first plenary session also discusses new trends in the gas industry, the experience of five years of operation of the Galkynysh field, the development of deposits with high sulfur content, as well as issues of environmental friendliness of the gas industry and sustainable energy in Asia.
In the morning, there will also be a session on "TAPI (TurkmenistanAfghanistanPakistanIndia) � pipeline of peace and stability. The total length of the TAPI gas pipeline is 1840 kilometers, including 205 kilometers in the Turkmen section, 817 kilometers in Afghanistan and 818 kilometers in Pakistan.
Here reports on the implementation of this mega project will act as Chief Executive officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited Muhammetmyrat Amanov, Chairman of the Board of State Bank for foreign economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rahimberdi Jepbarov.
Among the foreign guests, the acting Minister of industry and trade of Afghanistan, senior adviser to the President of Afghanistan, Member of the Board of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited Ajmal Ahmadi, special assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan for oil Nadim Baber, as well as representatives of the Islamic Corporation for investment insurance and export credit (ICIEC), Allen & Overy LLP, Credit Suisse, Bilfinger Tebodin Middle East Ltd. will talk about cooperation to promote the TAPI project.
In the afternoon, the forum participants will discuss such topics as key elements of energy security and sustainability, new approaches to gas transportation, the growing role of transnational pipelines.
There will also be speeches on the review of the natural gas market in China, the technical aspects of export pipelines in the Caspian Sea, the development of the natural gas market on a regional and global scale, the monetization of gas � the path to diversification and growth.
Tomorrow, the forum participants will consider a number of other relevant topics for the development of cooperation in the oil and gas industry.
Representatives of foreign companies will also meet with senior government Ministers and leaders of the oil and gas sector of Turkmenistan, where they will discuss issues of effective cooperation and implementation of specific projects.
It should be noted that before the beginning of the forum, pop artists, folk groups, including the famous folk group "Galkynysh", which prepared a special program dedicated to the anniversary X Gas Congress of Turkmenistan, which gave a special solemnity to the important event, made a speech.
