Pilot project of the Global Transit Document launched in Turkmenistan

The ceremony of launching the pilot project of the Global Transit Document (GTrD) was held in the Avaza national tourist zone on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea.

The ceremony was attended by members of the government of the country, heads of the permanent secretariat of the intergovernmental commission of the program of the international transport corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA), the Intergovernmental Council of Road Builders of the CIS and the International Center for Transport Diplomacy.

GTrD is a unified electronic document that is issued for cargo transported across international borders in containers by various modes of transport - road, rail, sea, river, etc. This document makes it possible to carry out container transportation across several borders on all modes of transport without mandatory customs clearance at each border.

The project is the result of cooperation between the TRACECA Program and the International Center for Transport Diplomacy, the Intergovernmental Council of Road Workers of the CIS, developers of IT technologies and countries that have shown interest in this project. At the ceremony, it was noted that the implementation of the Global Transit Document will be a significant contribution to the digitalization of global transportation chains.
