Aghdam: President Ilham Aliyev has announced that people are expected to return to the villages of Kangarli and Khidirli this year. This marks the 13th settlement where former internally displaced persons (IDPs) have returned.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, President Aliyev made this statement during a meeting with residents who have recently moved into new apartments in the village of Sarijali, Aghdam. He emphasized that similar conditions will be provided for all IDPs in the future.
The President highlighted that the first settlement in the Aghdam district is now accessible to former IDPs after the occupation. He noted that natives of Aghdam will also be returning to other villages this year, as construction work is ongoing in various locations. Additionally, President Aliyev mentioned that the city of Aghdam is being reconstructed from the ground up and is set to become one of the most prominent cities in the country.
