Baku: On November 7, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev participated in the opening of the Boyukshor-Pirshaghi highway. Saleh Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads, briefed the head of state on the completed work. According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the new Boyukshor-Pirshaghi highway spans 12.7 kilometers. It begins in the area of Balakhani settlement near Boyukshor Lake, passes through the settlements of Digah and Mammadli, and reaches the settlements of Kurdakhani and Pirshaghi. The highway is designed with six lanes and constructed to the 1B technical grade, aligning with modern standards to improve traffic flow in the capital. As part of the project, the highway features six overpasses and one vehicle underpass. U-turns have been provided at three locations to facilitate traffic movement. Additionally, new pedestrian sidewalks and bicycle lanes in both directions have been constructed to ensure safe movement for both vehicles and pedestri ans. The highway is equipped with a modern lighting system, landscaping along the road, and electric vehicle charging stations located at the third kilometer. The construction of the Boyukshor-Pirshaghi highway was carried out by the State Agency of Azerbaijan Automobile Roads in accordance with the Azerbaijani President's order, taking into account the anticipated growth of Baku.
