On August 26, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov dismissed Toygeldi Mammedov , deputy chairman of the state concern Türkmennebit (Turkmenneft) , as he failed to fulfill his duties, the state information agency TDH reports .

The head of state announced this decision at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers after a report on the work of Deputy Prime Minister Shahym Abdrakhmanov , who oversees the oil and gas industry.

What exactly was the reason for Mammedov's removal from office is not specified. He has been the deputy chairman of the state concern since March 2020.

Abdrakhmanov spoke about the need to purchase new drill pipes of various sizes, which are planned to be used in the overhaul of oil and gas wells, as well as geophysical equipment for the state company "Türkmengeologiýa" ("Turkmengeology"), designed for 3D modeling - a seismic survey method.

According to TDH , as a result, the president allowed the state concern "Turkmennebit" to purchase 2,309 tons of drill pipes of various sizes from the Chinese company "KING EASE LIMITED" at its own expense.
