On October 23, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov met with the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Turkmenistan Qian Naycheng , the state news agency TDH reports .
The parties reportedly discussed the issues identified during a telephone conversation between Berdymukhamedov and Chinese President Xi Jinping in May 2021.
“Interest was also expressed in continuing joint work in the transport and communication complex, energy, textile, chemical, food industry, agro-industrial complex, healthcare, information, high technologies,” writes TDH, without giving other details of the negotiations.
The ambassador thanked the head of Turkmenistan for supporting the Chinese business in the Turkmen market.
A telephone conversation between Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Xi Jinping took place on May 6. Then TDH also did not publish the details of the negotiations. It was noted that the priority area of cooperation is the oil and gas sector and, in particular, the Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline.
In May this year, it became known that China hopes to increase gas supplies from Turkmenistan to offset the decline in purchases from Australia.
