At a meeting on November 11, Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiyev , who is in charge of the agro- industrial complex, reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the fulfillment of the plan for harvesting cotton in the amount of 1.25 million tons.

According to the information agency TDH , the head of state instructed to mark the distinguished cotton growers with state awards. The ceremony of awarding, as well as celebrations on the occasion of the Harvest Festival on November 13 at the Mekan Palace will be prepared and conducted by the Chairman of the Mejlis Gulshat Mammedova , Deputy Prime Minister Orazgeldiev and Chairman of the Central Council of the Agrarian Party Byashim Annagurbanov .

As the TDH writes, children from each region arrived in Ashgabat , who brought the president full khorzhuns of snow-white raw, "symbolizing the labor victory of the villagers" and recited poetry. The head of state presented gifts to the children and took pictures with them as a keepsake.

On November 1, at a meeting with the heads of the regions, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov was dissatisfied with the timing of the cotton harvest and noted that in some etraps of the regions there are low rates of harvesting "white gold".

This year, the President ordered "to hand over the planned volumes of cotton by the anniversary of Independence Day" (September 27), stating that "at present, the main task is to fulfill the contractual obligations to deliver cotton to the state by this significant date." In 2020, the implementation of the plan was reported on November 5, in 2019 - on November 8.

On September 20, speaking about awards for officials in honor of the Independence Day, the head of state instructed to present medals to khyakims of velayats and etraps only after the successful harvest of cotton.
