On 17 August No-vehicle day was held across Turkmenistan with large-scale bicycle races devoted to a 30 day countdown to the Asian Games being organized in all cities.
President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov, who also rode a bicycle accompanied by ministers, also participated in the event held in Ashgabat.
After that the President attended the opening ceremonies for new elite apartment blocks, a hospital, the Public Associations Centre as well as the consumer services centre accommodating a banquet hall, a sewing shop and some stores.
