President dissatisfied with pace of agricultural reform

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov is unhappy with the pace of reforms being implemented in the agricultural sector. During a cabinet meeting on October 4, the head of state pointed out this problem to Deputy Prime Minister Esenmyrat Orazgeldiev , the oblast's khyakim and the heads of the agricultural complex, who is in charge of the agricultural sector.

According to the state news agency TDH , "today the main task of the agricultural industry is not only to fill the country's markets with agricultural products and reduce its imports, but also to establish its exports." It is also necessary to create biological laboratories in agriculture.

The President also raised the issue of the state of agricultural machinery and its repair. The sector leader was instructed to decide whether the equipment should be used differently, either given to tenants, or to create special structures that would be responsible for it.

It should be noted that state media regularly write about the export of Turkmen agricultural products. In particular, tens of tons of Turkmen tomatoes are exported to Russia. At the same time, Rospodrebnadzor periodically reports on batches of Turkmen vegetables infected with parasites, which are subject to destruction in accordance with the phytosanitary legislation of Russia.
