Presidents Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Serj Sargsyan spoke to the press on the outcomes of the negotiations.
Particularly, Turkmen leader noted that the sides have confirmed mutual intent to promote the consolidation of global peace and stability, assertion of the principles of trust and understanding in international relations. At the same time, the willingness to develop the partnership in this direction in bilateral format and under the UN, OSCE, CIS and other international organizations was confirmed.
According to Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the sides agreed on further consolidation of the efforts for counteracting the challenges and threats of international security including in the fight against the terrorism, transnational crime and illegal drugs trafficking.
The President of Turkmenistan made special mention that current meeting has consolidated the basis of new and more dynamic partnership in trade and economic sphere. Trade, energy, transport and communication, agriculture, public health, textile industry, development of direct contacts and relations between business structures of two states were outlined as the most perspective ones.
The Head of Turkmenistan also informed the press that during the talks, great attention was attached to humanitarian component of bilateral relations. The agreement on comprehensive support of the strive of the nations of both countries to closer communication, study of rich cultural and historical heritage, creation of the conditions for artistic cooperation of arts and cultural workers of Turkmenistan and Armenia has been achieved.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov reminded that V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games would be held in Ashgabat in September of this year.
In this regard, President of the Republic of Armenia Serj Sargsyan was invited to visit Turkmenistan for participation in the opening ceremony of the Games on September 17.
