President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of Russia Ilyas Umahanov and Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council for Regulations and organization of Parliamentary Activty Vadim Tyulpanov.
Having expressed the gratitude for the time and warm welcome at Turkmen land, I. Umahanov congratulated President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on convincing win at successful election on last Sunday and conveyed best wishes from Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko. It was emphasized that deliberate choice of Turkmen people, which was directly reflected in the results of the voting, indicates great respect and high authority of the Leader of the Nation and support of his political course.
Having thanked for the warm words, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov highlighted special character of relations with Russia, which always been and will be one of the strategic partners. Stating with delight the level of interstate cooperation achieved for the last years, the President of Turkmenistan and his guests came to common opinion that today, Turkmen � Russian relations entered new level of development, meeting the interests of friendly peoples. Trustful relations established between the heads of two states, regular visits of delegations of both countries, expansion of inter-Parliament connections directly enhanced the establishment of productive political dialog supplemented by the development of trade and economic partnership. It was highlighted during the meeting that visual achievements of dynamically developing Turkmenistan and fundamental reforms undertaken by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, which are aimed at economic prosperity of the country and improvement of wellbeing of the people, establish favourable ground for diversification of beneficial partnership.
It was mentioned that following common targets and priorities of social and economic development, Turkmenistan and Russia managed to establish large and reliable legal and contractual base of interstate relations that directly promotes steadfast development of constructive dialog.
Having expressed special gratitude to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov for personal support of intensification of traditional cooperation in key directions, I. Umahanov expressed the confidence that existing economic and resource potential would allow expanding considerably the spectrum of cooperation and outline new vectors in the future.
During the meeting, the sides shared the visions on the prospects of development of relations of two countries in international arena. As is known, supporting peace-loving foreign policy, Turkmenistan and Russian Federation efficiently cooperate in solution of many urgent issues of global development. Mutual understanding, huge political trust and community of visions on principle aspects of international agenda allow the sides successfully cooperate in bilateral and multilateral formats, first under the largest international organizations and structures as the UN and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Deputy Chairman of the federation Council of Russia noted that peace-making policy of independent neutral Turkmenistan, which is the author of number of important international initiatives summoned to comprehensively support consolidation of security, social and economic progress in the region and the world, gained deservingly high international authority among the UN members including Russia that see Turkmenistan as reliable partner playing huge positive role in provision of stability in the Central Asia. The resolution of the United Nations, which adopted December 12 as International Neutrality Day, is visual evidence of large support of foreign policy course led by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
At the end of the meeting, having shared good wishes for one more time, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and his guests expressed frim confidence in further intensification of Turkmen � Russian cooperation built on strong foundation of centuries-old historical, spiritual and cultural community of two fraternal peoples.
