Modern sport facilities, provided with top equipment, were built in the capital, velayat centres and national tourist zone Avaza. Following the targets, we proposed to name 2017 as a Year of Health and Inspiration.
We pay special attention to cooperation with International Olympic Committee, sport federations and mainly with Asian Olympic Council. We develop friendly interstate contacts in physical training and sport. 17 states of Australia and Oceania along with 45 countries of Asia expressed their intent to participate in the forthcoming V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games. This fact is a visual evidence of international recognition of the state policy for the development of sports.
The development of public physical training movement and sport of high achievement, encouragement of our coaches and athletes, who won prizes in the Olympic Games and other prestigious sport competitions, is one of the most important priorities of the state policy.
New glorious pages was entered to the history of Turkmen sport in the year of Honour of the Heritage and Transformation of the Motherland. Unprecedented 500-day horse ride started 500 days before the beginning of the V Asian Games. All work undertaken in this direction was dictated by the care for the people and promotes improvement of national pride in the mind and thoughts of the people, especially young generation.
International test competitions in ambo, Turkmen national wrestling gyoresh and belt wrestling, basketball, tennis, track and field athletics and jujitsu were held in sport facilities of the capital Olympic village.
Our youth , devoted to sport, deservingly compete for sport honour of the Motherland in regional and international level competitions demonstrating the patriotism, courage and true skills. This is an evidence of the great attention of our sovereign state to the development of public physical training and sport of high achievements.
We are sure that representatives of our national teams, our masters and athletes will confidently win during the V Asian Games, where competitions in 21 sports will be organized on high level, as well as during other prestigious sport competitions.
