Baku: President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the participants of the international conference on 'Global Challenges in Judicial Administration' dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the Judicial-Legal Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the President conveyed his heartfelt wishes to the attendees and highlighted the significance of the Judicial-Legal Council in the country's judicial reforms. He emphasized that the year 2025 has been declared the 'Year of Constitution and Sovereignty' in Azerbaijan, linking this with the Constitution's role in building a democratic state. The Constitution, drafted under Heydar Aliyev's leadership and adopted in 1995, prioritizes human rights.
President Aliyev noted the importance of an independent judicial system in safeguarding human rights and recognized the Judicial-Legal Council's role since its establishment in 2005. The Council has strengthened public confidence in justice by improving court accessibility, enhancing the quality of justice, and integrating new technologies into judicial processes.
He also pointed out the necessity of adopting new approaches to judicial administration due to evolving social relations and rapid digitalization. The President expressed confidence that the conference discussions would address global challenges and improve justice efficiency.
